Registering your Windows Phone 7 for Development

The documentation for Windows Phone 7 confuses developers.  Visual studios will reference check the App Hub and the App Hub references registering the phone in Visual Studios.  In this case the documentation is wrong.  To register your Windows Phone 7 you need to launch the “Windows Phone Developer Registration” application.

Step 1: Open “Windows Phone Developer Registration” application in Windows Phone Developer Tools.

Step 2: While your phone is launched and Zune software is running enter your live ID.  Note:  Phone also has to have lock screen unlocked.
