I ran into issues getting my deployment to work. The status kept aborting and stating recovering web role. After a quick google search I ran across a couple posts some that were based on an older version of the SDK.

What ended up being my problem was that the System.Web.Mvc library needed to be set to Copy Local = True.

<img style="background-image: none; Visual studios will reference check the App Hub and the App Hub references registering the phone in Visual Studios. In this case the documentation is wrong. To register your Windows Phone 7 you need to launch the “Windows Phone Developer Registration” application.

Step 1: Open “Windows Phone Developer Registration” application in Windows Phone Developer Tools.
 <img style="background-image: none; Long story….

Beware your microSD will be assimilated.

I now have three microSD cards that have been assimilated by my windows phone 7. Once you place the card and do a reset to your device the microSD card will be unusable by other devices. You will not be able to format it even. I have tried to gain access to the drive in windows, mac OS X and also Linux. The device no longer loads.

Microsoft has documentation stating "You should not remove the SD card in your phone or add a new one because your Windows Phone 7 device might not work properly. Existing data on the phone will be lost, and the SD card in your phone can't be used in other Windows Phones, PCs, or other devices.".

I personally think this is a poor implementation of standard hardware. As a normal user I ignored any and all warnings. For instance the Samsung Focus clearly states read the Quick Start book before installing any microSD card. That being said it does not state that the card will be unusable by other devices after the fact. Instead it only states: "Warning: Do not remove the memory card once it is inserted because it is integrated with the phone's memory and will cause the phone to be inoperable."

To take over a consumer purchased piece of hardware and make it unusable does not seem acceptable to me. More to come on this front. Hopefully a utility will be released to fix my three worthless microSD cards.

You must hold all three buttons until you see the screen below. You then press the Windows key to format or back to cancel.

This will reset the phone to the day you received it.

The soft reset option can be located under Settings –> About –> reset your phone. Soft reset works for installing a microSD but when you remove it is possible that the phone may have relocated files from it’s internal memory to the card. A hard reset will force it to put all files back on the internal memory.

A new site host a new blog.

I am going to try to rejuvinate my blogging skills now that I've moved to a Squarespace for my company site. In the past I've ran my site off of Drupal. I have decided that my needs to not deem a full blown server so I will no longer be running my site off of Drupal.
